Patriot Pointe

CDS is honored to have worked with Sharonville and the Veteran’s Committee on the planning and design of this grateful tribute to our nation’s veterans.

The City of Sharonville built Patriot Pointe in honor of all men and women who served in the U.S. military, regardless of being involved in a war conflict. The memorial is located on Thornview Drive near the Sharonville Community Center and Gower Park, and adjacent to the Sharonville Regional Branch Library. Its location provides easy access for school children for educational purposes and for integration into community activities and events.

The design incorporates the natural attributes of the hillside site and adjacent creek as sculptural and meaningful elements of the memorial experience. The memorial is nestled into an otherwise unusable spot on the hillside that represents our soldiers that have died on foreign soil, and are now buried. Access to the memorial is gained by crossing a pedestrian bridge over the stream, symbolizing wars fought overseas. The granite sentinels represent the six armed services that protect the citizens of the United States and provide a sentimental reflection of the service and sacrifice of our veterans.

Commemorative bricks that honor individual veterans are placed in the central area of the memorial. Bricks inscribed with the names of supporters are placed around the perimeter.
